E-learning stand for electronic learning and it is determined by a delivery of training or education program through electronic. In the other words, e-learning is transfer of skills and knowledge and knowledge passed through the internet and network or standalone (independent) computer. The electronic device involved computer or electronic device such as mobile phone. For instance, Universities Malaya is one of the universities using e-learning which means a web-based learning management system with learning contents management capabilities.

This is exhibits:

  1. This is the system which UM can be accessed via the following URL Addresses.
    For UM staff:
http://elearning .um.edu.my/ Use UMMail Username and Password

In no particular order, there are certain pros on E-learning perspective among the students.

  1. Electronic learning solutions improved collaboration and interactivity among students. Teaching and communications techniques create an interactive online environment such discussion group and email. Distance education encourage more critical because students enable study anywhere as long as there ability access into a computer with the network connection.

  2. Besides that, e-learning provide flexibility to join discussion any hour of the whole day. Students can proceed their assignment or tutorial and they access learning materials at any time and as much as they need. This is known as “just in time and just enough”.
  3. Another benefit of e-learning is the accessibility is provides. This is due to students can learn form anywhere and done from any place. Student enable complete their program at their own space and own place as well.

  4. Furthermore, students can accommodate different learning styles through different activities. Students are not restriction use e-learning to complete their tasks but are encourage. Since the technology is get greater improvement and provide us convenience to interact and discussion among students and lecturer as well.

However, there are various negative ways to looking at the e-learning prospective among students.

  • Students may get isolated from lecturer or classmate during discussion. This is due to students are not face to face with lecturer or classmate and get misunderstanding what they are discussion at the same time.

  • In addition, lecturer may not always be available when students need their help to complete their tasks at anytime. Therefore, students force to make appointment or send by mail to inform the lecturer when they needed.

  • Sometimes, students do not know well the computer files and online learning software. Hence, students are involved complex management of computer files and online learning software. This might waste the students “gold” time to submit their deadlines of the assignment.

The pros and cons of e-learning perspective alter depending on program goals and organizational infrastructure and culture. By the way, there is no argument that e-learning pros and cons since e-learning is rapidly growing as form of training delivery. Students should be imposed the e-learning at the right ways, right place and right time.

If using e-learning, students and teachers no longer have communication flow from both ways. So for sure it will cause many misunderstanding between both of them..
